CURB

CURB is a fairly young media company founded n 2008. Based in London Its understandable that they might feel even more driven than most to produce low-impact solutions in today's wasteful world.

What CURB is doing for the industry and environment is inspiring and their interpretation of the market is one that more design companies will have to consider, not least because it works! The seemingly random discovery of a logo pressed into snow or cleaned onto a path projects it's message aside from all the white noise of today's visual communication and makes you feel as though you've found something special.

That said it's hard to believe this form of advertising will dominate the industry, and for that matter could you imagine a world completely plastered in logos? From the trees on your street to your local park! "They Live" in overdrive!... But fear not, to its credit the idea of most low impact design is that it's not meant to last forever.

CURB boast their environmental consciousness while trying to pull away from the image of "Eco-Worriers", they offer natural design solutions for clients simply because they think it's the right thing to do and I can't say I disagree.

JACKNIFE

Jacknife are a gig and tour poster-producing agency based in Bristol. As well as an online store they also hold stores at some of Britain biggest alternative festivals including Glastonbury this year. Sifting through their store you can't help but appreciate the ornate style of these psychedelic vibrant posters. Perhaps considered too busy or illegible by some others would find the textures and organically illustrated style inspiring.

Utilising these old styles harking through to the days of free love Jacknife produce modern posters for recent music tours and festivals. Their online store seems to hold a fraction of their designs but is still defiantly worth checkin out! If you'd like to check out a wider variety you can find where they're holding their next festival store from the Jacknife homepage.

Jacknife's aim is to simply create great posters for events across the country and they are keen collaborators when it comes to creating their work. Searching the Internet for event posters you'll find a whole array of retro and modern posters across countless styles hosted by a number of online stores, you wade rather than surf. And unless you know exactly what you're looking for it's hard to find consistently good design. So if you're looking for recent festival posters carrying solid designs and bursting with artistic flare then Jacknife should be at the top of your to checklist.
